Educating expectant parents on the medical and lifestyle issues associated with pregnancy, you will also better understand body changes, baby’s growth and development, pregnancy do’s and don’ts, and the importance of proper nutrition, exercise, and pre-natal care.

Yoga for Pregnancy
Specially designed to meet the needs of pregnant women to energize the body, strengthen the inner core and achieve mental clarity through breath and movement of yoga. 

$15/session or $75/five sessions

Childbirth



Childbirth Preparation
A certified Lamazeฎ Instructor prepares expectant parents mentally and physically for labor and delivery – how to know you are in labor, to time contractions, about breathing and relaxation techniques, labor positions, and medical interventions and anesthesia. Class timing recommended for last trimester, so it is best to register by 4th month of pregnancy. Refresher course is also available. Please bring two pillows and a blanket to class.

Infant Care

  

Adult, Child, & Infant CPR
This American Heart Association class covers understanding and recognizing symptoms of  and emergency resuscitation for adult heart attack, stroke, and choking, as well as choking relief techniques and rescue breathing for infants and children. Will earn a credential card documenting successful course completion.

Breastfeeding

Caring for Your Baby

Just for Dads
An hour of education for new dads, in "shock therapy" style!  Helps prepare Dad for the childbirth process, holding a new baby, changing diapers, understanding breastfeeding and helping care for mom after baby is born.

OB Tour and Orientation
Expectant parents are introduced to ST. FRANCIS eastside through a tour of the labor and delivery floor and review of our neonatal services, doula services, and parent education program. Parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions and pre-register for delivery.

Sibling Preparation Tour
Through stories, video, and activities, 3 to 10 year old children, with their parents, prepare for baby’s arrival by learning the differences, abilities, and needs of infants. A brief tour of the hospital is provided before “graduation.”

Support Groups



Support Group for Breastfeeding
A certified Lactation Consultant will cover breastfeeding topics like milk consumption, weight checks, and more. She will also be available to answer your questions.
